Catch up

I haven't had a lot of time to crochet lately. I am currently crocheting a hat for my nephew. 

This is the hat that I am making for my nephew. I want to crochet some scarves next them learn to crochet with my steel books. Maybe with my steel hooks I can crochet some bookmarks.

Making time for crocheting

How do I make time for crocheting?
I crochet while the two youngest are napping.
I crochet while nursing the baby.
I crochet while watching shows on the internet.
I crochet while the kids are watching movies and playing games.
I try to find times to crochet even if I only crochet one row or round.
Some people can crochet while riding in the car. Not me I get car sick if I look down at the floor for a long time. I would love to be able to crochet while riding in a vehicle but the threat of being sick stops me from doing it.
Try and find some time to crochet everyday and it will pay off.

Jiggly Puff Pattern

Here is a free JigglyPuff pattern. I really like this pattern, it is easy to follow and the pattern is really cute. This website also has patterns for Pokemon and lots of other patterns. I used red heart worsted yarn not sure of the name of the yarn because my husband decided to roll it into a ball. It helps to look at the picture for placement of the arms, feet, ears, and curl. I didn't look when I was putting the feet on and ended up having to undo them because they looked funny. Once I looked at the picture it was obvious that I had the placement wrong.

Here is a picture of the one that I made. I didn't have any felt so I crocheted the black in the ears then crocheted the pink and black pieces of ear together with pink. I also crocheted the eyes. I think it turned out pretty cute. This is going to be a Christmas present for my oldest daughter.

Crocheting to do list

Here are a couple of items that I would like to do

• write reviews on crocheting books
• write reviews on patterns that I have tried
• write reviews on yarn that I have used
• provide links for patterns that I have found that are free
• try to make my own patterns

Trying to do some of these items will be tricky considering that I have 5 kids still at home.

Crocheting and me

I started crocheting in grade school. I would go once a week to my aunt's house for lessons. Needless to say I really didn't learn a lot but I did crochet a hot pad. Fast forward to high school and I attempted to crochet an afghan. It took me a 1/2 hour to crochet one row so my mom did most of it.

After I was married for a few years I got the urge to crochet. I borrowed some crochet books from my grandma and started trying to remember how to crochet. Then one year my mom got me how to crochet book for Christmas. After that I was hooked. I love to crochet scarves, granny squares, and amigurumi.
